NEW CLASS SCHEDULE FOR 2012/2013
MAY/JUNE NEWLSETTER
Dear Dancers & Parents,
Competitions, Exams, Costumes, Makeup the list goes on, but as everyone knows, it's a busy time of year at the studio for dancers, parents and teachers, and our recital is approaching fast. Tickets for "Extravadance 2011" go on sale at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts on Tuesday May 24th, 2011 the price for tickets is $20.00. Just a reminder that there is a prize to the family who purchases the most tickets. Please keep your receipts as proof of purchase. When purchasing your tickets please be aware that there is a service charge every time you purchase, so to avoid these costly services, please try to purchase all of your tickets at one time.
PICTURE DAY AT THE STUDIO
Tracy Stewart Photography will be back again this year, taking pictures of all the dancers. Picture Day at the studio will be Sunday June 5th, 2011. We will post a schedule with times of all groups etc, within the next 2 weeks. Please check for this schedule in waiting area. Tracy will also put a picture package in your mailbox with prices. You must fill out the form and bring cash or cheque on picture day.
DRESS REHEARSAL SUNDAY JUNE 19TH
Our Dress Rehearsal is held at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts and a schedule will be posted in the waiting area.
SHOW NIGHTS - SUNDAY JUNE 19TH & MONDAY JUNE 20TH
Our show starts at 7.00p.m. both nights, and all dancers at the studio are involved in both shows. All dancers must be in dressing room/backstage area no later than 6.15p.m both nights. If you are only in Act 2 you must arrive no later than 7.30p.m.
VOLUNTEERS
If you would like to Volunteer either on the 19th or 20th, during our performance we would appreciate the help. There will be a sign up sheet in waiting area very soon.
"EXTRAVADANCE 2011 VIDEO"
If you would like a DVD of our recital the cost is $25.00 there will be a sign up sheet in the waiting area, you can pay for the DVD when you pick it up. The DVD should be ready approximately 2 weeks after our recital. We will call all parents who have signed up when the DVD arrives at the studio.
"EXTRAVADANCE 2011" PICTURE CD - FUNDRAISER FOR DANCERS GOING TO NOVA SCOTIA
One of our dad's at the studio Mr. Meehan as offered to take action shots of your dancers, during the recital, If you would like to purchase a Picture CD the cost will be $10.00 all proceeds will go to our highland dancers going to the Canadian Championships in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR DANCERS!!!! THANK YOU We will have a sign up sheet in the waiting area if you would like to purchase a C.D.
HIGHLAND COMPETITIONS
Congratulations to our Trophy Winners - Wren Walker, Ellen Ferguson, Isabella French, Aideen Tolley and Kate Redwood. A special mention to Fiona Tolley on Winning the 11 & under Western Ontario Closed Championship and also to Kendra Marie Brophy on winning 1st Runner-Up 15 & Under Western Ontario Closed Championship.
STAGE COMPETITIONS
Please note that our website is under construction at the moment, but we have started posting pictures of our Highland Dancers. To all our Stage Competitors, who have been dancing up a storm and bringing home awards please note that when we get our Pictures from Tracy after picture day we will be posting them on our website with captions of all the awards that you have won. I thought I should mention how well everyone has done at Stage Competitions, but I may be typing until next week. Well Done to all the dancers on all of your successes. We have 2 more competitions to go, so keep up the good work. A special mention to Miss Lyndsay for being awarded "Judges Choice - Choreography Award" and also "Judges Choice - Most Entertaining Award" for her Intermediate/Senior Musical Theatre Group "Spelling Bee".
